Who are we?
DA Intergroup is a service arm of the Debtors Anonymous groups in the UK. DA and BDA members have found ways out of the pain
and confusion caused by debting by participating in the DA program. We want to tell others who are experiencing the same
problems that there is a solution. The DA Intergroup combines the resources of the individual groups to carry out projects
that would be difficult for a single group to achieve.
When and where does intergroup meet?
--NEW-- The timing of intergoup meetings has changed to the last Saturday of every 2nd month from 2-5pm.
Meetings are on the odd months of the year (Jan, Mar, May, July, Sept, Nov). The location is St John's, Hyde Park Crescent
, unless otherwise stated. For directions, see Meetings List, Saturday morning. Any DA or BDA member may attend and
speak, but only group representatives may vote.
For May only, the Intergroup meeting will not be on the last Saturday of the month, but will held on Sat 24th.
Meeting dates:
- Sat 24 May
- Sat 26 July
- Sat 27 September
- Sat 29 November
How does Intergroup work?
Each group elects a general service representative (GSR) to participate in monthly Intergroup meetings. The Intergroup representatives
decide what projects they want to try, form committees of DA volunteers to do the projects, and report the results back to
the groups. All decisions are made by these group representatives. Officers of Intergroup (including the chair, secretary,
treasurer and literature secretary) work to help Intergroup function, but do not have a vote at meetings unless they also
represent a group as GSR.
How do we help individuals? We
- Publish on the website up-to-date information on meeting times and locations
- Administer and maintain postal, telephone and email facilities in order to act as a contact point for debtors in need
of support, and arrange for messages to be answered
- Create and maintain this web site for DA members and other interested parties
- Organize and support workshops and other special events for DA members
How do we help groups? We
- Act as a focal point for representatives from groups to meet and share their experience, and discuss issues that are not
resolvable within a single group
- Sell DA literature to groups and supply starter packs for debtors in isolation
- Encourage the formation of new groups by supplying information and DA literature
- Inform the media and counsellors, educators, and other professional bodies who wish to learn about DA
- Maintain contact with DA world service
Obtaining literature
Groups can buy literature from Intergroup at Intergroup meetings. We are negotiating ways to increase avaliablity and will
give details as soon as possible.

and recorded. Intergroup will accept donations by post from groups outside London, although attendance at intergroup is always
the preferred method.
